The area offers some great cycling routes whether you’re wanting relaxed flat routes or something a bit more serious.
There are a series of long and short marked cycle trails on minor roads from Lampeter to Tregaron, passing through Cwmann and Cellan, with an excellent marked cycle trail; the Rheidol Trail which follows the Rheidol river on paths and quiet country roads, along the Rheidol Valley up to the fantastic Devil’s Bridge waterfalls.
Off Road – (Level)
The Aberaeron to Llanercheron trail follows along a dedicated cycle path which tracks the route of the old railway line to the National Trust property of Llanerchaeron Mansion. At Cors Caron, alongside the reserve is a flat cycle path using the disused trackway of the former Aberystwyth to Carmarthen railway, which forms part of the Ystwyth Trail.
Off Road – (More Challenging)
Brechfa Forest offers something for everyone . The Gorlech Trail , designed by Rowan Sorrell, constitutes three big climbs and descents stretching over its 19km. More advanced riders can also brave the black graded Raven Trail.
Alternatively, the Derwen Trail is more suitable for novices and represents a great introduction to mountain biking.

Whether you’re looking to relax or plan some activities during your stay, there are some great circular routes in the immediate area which you can either run, walk or cycle.
The longer ones have some hill work but the views from the top are amazing, and it’s downhill on the way back!
