Birdwatching & Bird Photography Cottages
If you are a bird-lover, Coedmor Cottages is the perfect place for your nature break. We have built a bespoke luxury bird-hide on site just a minute’s walk from our cottages. When it comes to bird watching and bird photography the bar has been raised to new heights! Our luxury bird hide is fully heated and with all the mod cons you could wish for. This is nature watching in comfort, whatever the weather!
Guests at Coedmor Cottages can enjoy this little piece of luxury at preferential rates (see below). If required, you can also take advantage of our in-house photography expert (Leigh) to give you hints and tips on how best to photograph the myriad of garden and woodland birds that we have around the hide.
We built the bird hide not only as a great place for bird photography and bird watching, but to also take advantage of the spectacular views across the Teifi Valley. You can learn much more about the bird hide’s features at its dedicated website Misty Heights Bird Hide

What Can You Expect to See
We get a wonderful variety of woodland birds. Great Spotted Woodpeckers are frequent visitors – we have both a female and a male that regularly show up.
Goldfinches are one of our most colourful drop-ins – if you’re into your bird photography they are one of our most photogenic subjects.
Chaffinches are here in great numbers and you’ll often see the flock fly off in as you approach the hide only for them return within in a minute a two.
Cheeky Nuthatches are always around – they are one of our favourites and are very tame- they will come to the windowsill for peanuts!
We’re fortunate to count many varieties of tits including Blue Tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits and the very sweet Long Tailed Tits.
Overhead you will often see Buzzards, Ravens and Red Kites and you may be lucky enough to see one perch nearby as they sometimes do.
We have daily visits from Robins, Wrens, Dunnocks, House Sparrows and Blackbirds. Other birds that are less regular but do visit are Bullfinches, Goldcrests, Jays, Treecreepers, Redstarts, Greenfinches, Stonechats and Siskins.
Whether you’re just there to observe or want to photograph them in natural surroundings there are plenty of varieties of birds to keep you entertained. Check out the gallery of images here to see more of our recent visitors.
